Our Story
My name is David Lacy. I’ve been a writer for as long as I can remember; writing is how I make sense of the world. In 2003, my column “Growing Younger” won California Newspaper Publisher’s Association “best weekly column” award. I’m a full-time English professor in Northern California.
My wife Samantha (Sammy) is a fellow Sacramento native and a public policy wonk/all-around badass. She builds things with her bare hands and knows where everything is at Lowe’s. If society collapsed, she would usefully build us a shelter while I feebly attempted to write a speech in a desperate attempt to unify the masses.
Between us we have four large dogs, four divorces (two apiece, baby!), and two Taco Bell apps.
Emerson Rose (“Emy”) joins our little family August 2024.
